Span Medical Products Canada services nursing homes for the North American market and has been a supplier of medical devices for 104 years. Our facility of 100 associates is located in the heart of Ontario's wine producing region at Beamsville. SMPC produces beds using metal fabrication, welding, robotic welding, paint and assembly processes in our 50,000 square foot facility. We are transitioning into lean manufacturing methods while developing our products on-site. We have a great team through all facets of the business and have a growth strategy that supports development of our people.
We are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor to join our team on the day shift.
Monday to Friday 7am to 3pm.
Position Responsibilities Include;
- Complete production plan and maintains workflow by monitoring steps of processes, assign personnel, make recommendations and adjustments to ensure deadlines and quality objectives and standards are met.
- Support manufacturing PPAP requirements by coordinating activities between Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering and Operations.
- Accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; train, coach, counsel and provide performance management to employees; initiate, coordinate and enforce systems, policies, and procedures.
- Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) Rapid Response for Root Cause with coordination between functions during daily investigations, as required.
- Run daily Team Huddles, communicate goals, review workplace safety inspection and communicate safety expectations and hazards.
- Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
- Maintain safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintain compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Maintain working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
To be successful in this role, we are seeking;
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Production Supervisor.
- Experience in supervision, managing processes, process improvement, and production planning.
- Strong computer Skills - ERP data input, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Good verbal and written communication expertise, with all levels of the company.
- Excellent time management expertise and very dependable.
- Availability to cover alternate shifts, including night shift on short notice, as needed on an infrequent basis.
