Position: Intern, Nutrition and Health
Reports to: Technical Specialist, Development Programs
Position Term: Part-time, Temporary

PURPOSE
The intern will support activities to further the advocacy and programming efforts related to the health focus area of the CTV, including the Gender-Transformative Framework for Nutrition. The incumbent will be expected to contribute to research and writing to support advocacy materials along with policy briefs related to the impact of COVID-19 and climate change on multi-sectoral and intersectional issues contributing to malnutrition among women and girls. The role involves supporting proposal development and/or knowledge translation activities related to this focus area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in development of policy and advocacy tools related to gender-transformative actions for nutrition.
- Liaise with Health Working Group and Gender Technical Specialists on joint initiatives including on positioning efforts and publications.
- Support operational elements related to leading the Gender-Transformative Framework for Nutrition Coalition.
- Assist in knowledge translation activities, including reports, blogs, and events.
- Assist in proposal development as required.
- Perform other reasonable duties as directed by the health working group lead.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in health, nutrition or related field. A bachelor's degree with a combination of two additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the master’s degree.
- Studies or work experience in the field of nutrition, food systems, and/or climate change.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including demonstration of cultural awareness, diplomacy and tact.
- Demonstrated knowledge in health equity, particularly gender equity.
- Demonstrated experience in evidence synthesis and knowledge translation.
- Ability to work independently and to multi-task.
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and coordination skills.
- Experience in policy formulation is preferred.
