Job overview
Aliena is a local space-tech company that designs and provides future mobility solutions for satellites. R&D is in our D&A and we are looking for a talented and passionate electrical engineering intern to assist in the development and coupling of electrical systems for our ongoing R&D campaigns. Potential interns will be expected to develop, design, test, and qualify critical electrical systems and control electronics for Aliena's emerging propulsion systems. This will include development of power conversion modules, electronic control systems, electronic diagnostic systems for systems under test in a simulated space environment and programming of integrated sensors for various propulsion related modules.
Additionally, all interns will serve to complement the Science and Engineering team at Aliena. Interns will be exposed to a plethora of intertwining multi-disciplinary tasks, including but not restricted to electric propulsion systems, plasma diagnostics and characterization, development of performance assessment systems, designing and commissioning of space environment facilities, microcontroller programming, power processing and electrical engineering, software development, mechanical design of high structurally sound containment facilities, optimization of low-cost fluidic regulation systems, and development of emerging onboard propulsion modules.
Responsibilities and duties
- Develop control electronics for system diagnostics
- Develop and integrate electrical systems and modules for power processing
- Develop and implement software for subsystem and hardware control
- Program microcontrollers and single board computers to execute functional tasks and automated sequences within a space environment simulator
- Present timely updates of work through presentations and technical reports
- Oversee maintenance and procurement of systems necessary for individual work scopes
- Spearhead and lead PCB prototyping - leading to coupling with adjacent systems
Qualifications
- Current/prospective enrolment in an EEE undergraduate program
- Good work attitude
- Full knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Proficiency in English
- Exemplary planning and time management skills
- Extreme discretion with personal and confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Powerpoint, Word, Excel and Outlook) is mandatory
