Risk and Security Manager

Job Duties/Responsibilities will include:
Develop an effective communication strategy/mechanism to create a culture of security risk awareness within the organization.

Plan and implement Technical Surveillance Counter Measures (TSCM).

Conduct periodic appraisals of the security arrangements at the organization and implement corrective measures where necessary.

Facilitate screening/ vetting services and provide related profiles to relevant authorities.

Develop and maintain investor/tenant database and advise on how to respond to changes in investor/tenant characteristics and demands related to security arrangements.

Provide support in defining appropriate support services for assessing and monitoring risks associated with functionally regulated activities to enable compliance with the security regulatory framework relevant to the organization.

Implementation of internal and external security audit recommendations.

Market the security risk mandate and its functions at a strategic level to the management and tenants.

Conduct Intelligence/Security Risk awareness programmes throughout the organization.

Plan, design and implement appropriate risk management framework or processes in consultation with management and tenants.

Analyse risks, identify, describe, and estimate the risks and threats affecting projects, other strategic and operational areas.

Acts as primary liaison between the organization and tenants towards ensuring effective management of various risk factors in the organization.

Evaluating security risks and providing advice to mitigate security risks associated with projects and related operational activities to ensure cost effectiveness and alignment with set budget parameters.

Act as a nodal point for all Security Risk matters at the company.

Liaise with related statutory entities.

Develop and sustain relations between management and key institutions of government, parastatals, and private companies within the parameters of security services.

Security risk reporting in an appropriate way for various audiences.

Ensure understanding of corporate governance issues involving external and internal security risks and reporting to stakeholders.

Provide Security Intelligence reports.

Carrying out security assessment processes which support insurance underwriting for the tenants.

Monitoring Health and Safety measures to ensure business continuity plans which limit security risks.

Conducting or assisting in audit of security policy and compliance standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors.

Providing support, education, and training to staff to build security risk awareness with the organization.

Relevant Degree in security management

5 plus years in security risk management and project management (MISS) environment.

Have good interpersonal skills (in relation to business/investors, service providers, employees etc.

Have an extensive understanding of security risk (document, personnel, business, physical, computer and communication security)

Have extensive experience in research methodology.

Possess knowledge of applicable legislation (primary and subordinate) and security prescripts issued by the SSA and SAPS.

Expertise in Security Risk Management or related field.

Understanding of information and personnel security aspects and functions.

Knowledge of relevant legislation (primary and subordinate) and security prescripts issued by the SSA

Extensive experience in research methodology.

Possess the ability to handle internal and/or external pressures.
