About this opportunity

This position is located in Vaughan ON, bordering Peel and Etobicoke.

What you will do

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Partner with the HR Team and hiring managers on full-cycle recruitment, this may include; initial intake meetings, job postings, screening resumes, conducting phone screens, background and reference checks, as well as the creation of offer letters.
  • Support with new hire onboarding and orientation, such as; delivering general onboarding correspondence, collecting onboarding documentation, participating in new hire orientation meetings, etc.
  • Assist in the coordination of employee benefit programs, including; group health benefits, employee engagement, recognition awards, as well as year-end events, milestone and holiday parties etc.
  • Participate and contribute to the health and safety program and initiatives.
  • Respond to general staff inquiries surrounding HR policies and procedures.
  • Assist with HR administrative duties, such as; drafting letters of employment and maintenance of hardcopy employee documentation.
  • Research and contribute new ideas on best practices for new and existing programs.
  • Support the HR Team and other assignments.
  • Recognized and accredited post-secondary institution co-op/internship program, with a focus on Human Resources.
  • General knowledge of HR theories, best practices, legislation and HR resources
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise tact with sensitive material and information
  • Highly organized, able to juggle competing priorities and adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
  • Willingness to learn.
