The person we are seeking should be an individual with energy, strong work ethic, integrity and vision who can competently assist the Head in leading the Boys’ Preparatory in the strategic as well as day to day management of the school.
The requirements for this position are:
- A suitable professional qualification and appropriate educational experience. A qualification in Sports Management / Sports Sciences would be an advantage
- An excellent teacher who can engage and inspire boys between 8 - 13 years old, whilst understanding the considerable part all teachers play in supporting children emotionally, and the significant link this has to academic achievement
- Ability to enhance / develop the Physical Education programme of the school
- A working understanding of a Long-Term Athletic Development Programme
- Constructively engage with other members of the School Management Team, within a collaborative working environment
- Ability to lead and manage the Boys’ Prep sports department
- Excellent command of English (verbal, written and public) is essential
- Good planning, organisational and administrative skills, with attention to detail
- Demonstrates ability to prioritise and work independently at all times
- Ability to co-ordinate and coach a variety of sports
- Ability to foster and sustain positive relationships with all stakeholders
- Experience as a tactful negotiator, able to adjudicate in a dispute
- An understanding of budget management and financial planning
- A commitment to on-going personal and professional development
- An awareness of the nature of the school and willingness to commit to its all-round ethos, co-curricular activities and pastoral approach
- Proof of registration with SACE supported by a sexual offender’s clearance certificate
