General Description:
Marketplace Services acts as a representative of the Better Business Bureau in the marketplace. Role responsibilities include prospecting, qualifying, and facilitating non-accredited businesses through the BBB accreditation process, providing exceptional customer service to current Accredited Businesses, selling advertising, and assisting and providing administrative support as required.

Reports to: CEO

Responsibilities and Expectations:
Sales:

  • Support BBB growth by identifying and soliciting qualified business leads
  • Building new relationships by canvassing various sources for potential prospects, contacting directly, and responding to direct inquiries
  • Maintain accurate data tracking within business systems
  • Ability to source leads using both conventional and non-conventional tools
  • Meet personal budgeted sales targets as agreed upon
  • Offer businesses various BBB sales and marketing opportunities to further leverage their accreditation and/or business objectives

Office Administration:

  • Assist with day-to-day office administration duties
  • Support BBB events, meetings and trade shows as required

This position works with the following people/organizations:

  • All BBB staff
  • Both Accredited and Non-accredited businesses
  • Industry Associations/ Organizations; Chambers of Commerce

Ideal Education & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in business or office administration
  • Inside sales experience with the demonstrated ability to close sales
  • Basic sales training and techniques, particularly with respect to cold calling is an asset
  • Experience in an administrative/clerical role is an asset
