About the Role:
We are looking for someone to lead our Government Affairs & Policy Team for Colombia, reporting directly to our Head of Public Policy for ACAC (Andean, Central America and Caribbean markets). This position will be based in Bogotá, Colombia. This role will involve establishing Uber’s brand and profile with governments, policymakers, NGOs, industry and academics; and working to ensure that the regulatory framework in every country supports innovation and ridesharing and food delivery apps.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead Uber’s public policy/government affairs agenda in Colombia.
  • Build lasting relationships with key stakeholders, lead campaigns to change regulatory scenarios, and define strategies to react to new circumstances.
  • Own relationships with other teams throughout the company, including Operations, Communications, Legal, Tax, etc, offering strategic advice to business partners in those functions.
  • Lead the work to establish Uber’s brand and profile with governments, policymakers, NGOs, the industry and academics.

Basic Qualifications:

  • To be a self starter: Stuff changes fast in our world so you’ll need to be highly adaptable as well as calm under pressure
  • To be a phenomenal advocate: You’ll need the intellectual fire power to grasp sophisticated policy issues as well as the ability to articulate clearly and simply how apps like Uber can help improve transportation for everyone—both orally and in writing
  • Desired: Public Policy experience in tech companies/industry. Solid understanding/networking in the political environment from inside out.
  • To be a team player: We’re looking for well organized people who enjoy working with others to get stuff done—and who can deal with the ambiguity that sometimes comes from working cross-functionally
  • Proficiency in English, both oral and written
