The team behind MIMI Chinese is proud to be opening their sister restaurant, Sunny’s Chinese located in Kensington Market!
Sunny’s is inspired by high energy dining cultures found throughout China. From Shaokao spots in Chengdu and Xi’an to Dai Pai Dongs in Hong Kong. We look to regional traditions to create an experience that’s casual and playful!
We are looking for inspired, energetic individuals, who are passionate about the industry, dedicated to providing exceptional guest experience, and strive to deliver lasting memories that pay tribute to the deeply rooted history of Chinese food and beverage culture.
What you will find at Sunny’s Chinese is the excitement behind a new launch, the vibrant and diverse atmosphere of Kensington Market, and an energetic, passionate team that works together to create an innovative atmosphere that redefines the true meaning of hospitality and traditional cuisine.
As a Servers Assistant at Sunny’s Chinese, you ensure our guests have a pleasurable dining experience, while providing friendly and prompt table-side services to our guests. You’ll work in collaboration with all team members to ensure a smooth operation and guest experience.
What You'll Do
- Deliver food orders from the kitchen to guests' tables
- Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
- Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
- Assist Servers with table setting by fetching and placing appropriate tableware, eating utensils and napkins
- Ensure food is served in accordance with safety standards (e.g. proper temperature)
- Check in with customers and take additional orders or refill water, as needed
- Remove dirty dishes and utensils
- Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items
What You'll Need
- Previous work experience as a serving assistant, food runner or host in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of hygiene and food safety rules
- Physical ability and stamina to carry heavy trays and stand for long hours
- Multi-tasking abilities
- Good oral communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced work environment
- Authorization to work in Canada
- An interest in learning about regional Chinese food and beverage
