You’ll need

  • 1 year minimum experience in an animal husbandry role such as a veterinary clinic, doggy day care or boarding facility
  • Flexibility to work a variety of weekday day, evening and weekend shifts, including some public holidays
  • Planned commencement or currently studying formal qualifications in Veterinary Nursing or Animal Husbandry will be highly regarded
  • A level of physical fitness to undertake the duties of the role, including regular cleaning, handling and lifting animals

About the role
Based in our North Melbourne Animal Hospital you will be working with a team of veterinarians and nurses to ensure high standards of patient care and cleanliness are maintained. Your days will be varied but some of your regular duties will include:

  • Animal husbandry including hygiene and cleaning, feeding, grooming and enrichment
  • Daily walks for patients in our care
  • Assisting with animal handling during veterinary examinations and procedures
  • Restocking bedding, towels and medical supplies, preparing wards for incoming animals
  • Liaising with customers about the care of their pets
  • Patient record keeping, reporting and daily checks
