About the Medical Receptionist Position:
This is a part-time internship position, with the option to renew.

We have an immediate opening for a bright and dynamic medical reception intern to be part of the front-line of our business. You will be required to be available to be scheduled Wednesdays and Saturdays anytime between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

As a medical receptionist, you will set the tone for each patient’s experience, as being one of comfort and top-quality care. We seek an outgoing, conscientious, mature, and enthusiastic individual with exceptional verbal and written communication skills to join our team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greeting patients, guiding patients throughout their visit and checking patients in and out of their appointments
  • Processing payments for appointments and products
  • Answering the 8 lines of incoming telephone calls, with a particular focus on answering the cosmetic lines with knowledge about the services and products offered at DermEdge
  • Efficiently and gracefully managing the booking of medical and cosmetic procedures
  • Escorting patients to and from treatment rooms and patient waiting areas
  • Assist with coordinating the DermEdge team with regular social media posting topics
  • Print and organize promotional materials for the office
  • Open and closing the office, including any next day preparation
  • Sorting through office mail daily
  • Complete and submit OHIP billing from previous day patients
  • Follow up rejected OHIP billing with Family Physician or Patient
  • Reschedule and follow up patients that do not show up for appointments

Prior Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate of a Medical Office Administration Program (or similar) with top grades (90% plus)
  • Experience in a fast-paced medical office
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Training in Accuro EMR and OHIP billing

Salary: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
