Role Overview

Job Overview and Responsibilities

  • The role of Research Scientist at Solvay Research & Innovation Center, Vadodara India
  • To support existing projects and to create medium/long-term innovation projects in the field of organic, polymeric and sustainable materials.
  • The research scientist has diverse technical competences in the field of material science/polymer technology, understanding of structure-property relationship of polymers and hand-on experience on material development and characterization using various analytical tools. Furthermore, the research scientist is expected to generate original ideas in the field of organic and polymer chemistry and contribute to expansion of group’s patent portfolio.
  • Research scientist practices interaction and assimilation of ideas from global teams and finding synergistic opportunities.
  • Research scientist understands and safety policies and procedures at the site and maintain safe work environment.

Education and Experience

  • PhD/Post doctorate in material science or polymer technology with >2 years of industrial experience in development of polymeric materials
  • Strong background and hands on experience in synthetic organic / polymer chemistry with proven track record
  • Fundamental understanding of structure-property-performance correlation in the area of organic molecules and polymers
  • Exposure to Circular Economy/Sustainability is plus

Skills

  • Capacity to innovate and curiosity towards chemistry and material science
  • Good organizational and prioritization skills
  • Should be self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Knowledge of experimental design and data analysis is considered a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
