Job Summary:
Northplex Ltd. is currently seeking a Full-Time Labourer located in Barrhead, AB. This position is responsible for various areas including but not limited to drywall, insulation and stipple bay.

Position Accountabilities:

  • Read production orders, diagrams, and specification lists
  • Installation of various forms of insulation and sheathing
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
  • Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
  • Sanding, priming and spraying of carious textures
  • Shape or cut materials to specified measurements, using hand tools, machines, or power saw
  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk and marking gauge
  • Make minor adjustments and repairs
  • Work within the larger team to create a safe, clean, and efficient workplace
  • Follows procedures accurately and carefully to ensure work is completed to the highest standards possible
  • Responsible for the use and care/maintenance of company tools, and equipment
  • Manage various tasks to meet the needs of the production facility
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • 1-3 years experience in home building, specifically modular homes would be an asset
  • Able to read and understand blueprints, drawings and written specifications
  • Able to work in all areas of the department as requested by the Lead hand.
  • Able to bend, twist, lift over 50 Ibs, climb ladders and work at a fast pace for an extended period of time.
  • Effectively handle hand and power tools for each specific position
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills, good communication skills and strong work ethic
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Highly organized, willing to learn, and good attendance
  • Perform duties in an organized and productive manner in a fast-paced environment

Salary: $18.00-$23.00 per hour
