Our multidisciplinary team includes planners, engineers, architects, environmental scientists, and strategic management consultants. Our work focuses on climate risk and resiliency consulting and sustainability planning for infrastructure and buildings and includes a focus on Envision certification, facilitation and stakeholder engagement, project management, and a connection to other sustainability certifications such as LEED, Passive House, Zero Carbon, WELL etc.).

We work with a diverse group of clients in transit and transportation, aviation, ports and marine, local government, health care, education, commercial, and community development sectors. Our work ranges from some of the largest and most complex infrastructure and building projects in BC and across Western Canada to bespoke community scale residential and commercial buildings which contribute to defining a neighborhood.

Your Opportunity:
The Carbon Impact Team comprises experts in climate risk and resiliency, building performance modeling and engineering, energy management and building condition assessments, sustainable design and certifications, health and wellbeing consulting and certifications, and corporate ESG reporting.

We work with a diverse group of clients and project types in the health care, education, institutional, airport, commercial, and community development sectors.

Your Duties:
The Sustainability Consultant is self-motivated with specialized expertise in integrated design, green building including rating systems, codes and policies, and sustainable urban development, providing business development leadership and mentorship to a wide range of sustainability, energy, and sustainable design professionals and projects. A member of the Western Canada Carbon team, located in Vancouver, this role focuses on business growth and technical professional consulting with the collaborative and dynamic group of multidisciplinary sustainability and energy management professionals, providing support of high quality and high performance projects, including high performance buildings, rating system (LEED, Zero Carbon, Green Globes, Fitwel, WELL etc.) facilitation, energy management, renewable energy, and energy simulation services.

Key responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with regional and discipline leads with the Carbon Impact Team provide business development leadership to grow Stantec’s Carbon practice.
  • Develop marketing strategies, business plans, and proposals in alignment with the Carbon Impact Team and regional leadership.
  • Mentor and develop technical staff and business development competencies.
  • Work with clients and project teams to develop sustainability vision through goal setting, metrics, and appropriate frameworks.
  • Understand and educate project teams and clients on regional funding opportunities.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and/or design teams.
  • May represent company with responsibility for generating client relationships, which lead to major, new business opportunities, partnerships, and alliances
  • Decisions and recommendations will have direct impact on critical programs, projects, business operations and the attainment of long-term goals of the organization
  • Influences, defines, and drives business strategy that expands and/or grows current and future revenue streams for the organization; influences others to deliver on targets objectives
