JOB SUMMARY

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for working closely with, supporting, and assisting the Warehouse Team Lead and Warehouse Manager in all areas of the warehouse as needed. The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and seamless processing of incoming and outgoing shipments. The Warehouse Associate may load and unload shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive lifting, and use any necessary equipment, e.g., forklift, etc. as needed. Other responsibilities will include the inspection of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify contents and quality and may be required to assist in the scheduling of freight appointments. The Warehouse Associate must understand the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of warehouse operations. Inventory management and vendor relations with shipping companies are essential functions for this position, along with demonstrated computer proficiency using an electronic inventory scanning program. The Warehouse Associate is responsible for shipping, receiving, kitting or other related warehouse duties as assigned. Other warehouse related duties may be assigned as necessary.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

_Water Spider Duties: _

  • To check kits for accuracy to BOM’s and to assemblies
  • Working between Manufacturing, Engineering and Purchasing
  • Ensure that required parts are always available at the agreed place and time
  • Prevent production stops due to lack of material
  • Constant attention to improvement
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area
  • Must have a high sense of urgency
  • Coordinate and prioritize the prepping of kits
  • Report existing or pending part shortages to Supervisor/Team Lead of Assembly
  • Assists with the verification of completeness and correctness of delivered kits
  • Unwrap and prep kits for assembly
  • Assist with delivery of materials to racks
  • Issues or distributes materials, products, parts and supplies to appropriate departments or individuals, based on information from incoming part requests

_Shipping Duties: _

  • Ensure boards are packaged according to customers’ specific requirements and with proper ESD handling
  • Ensure boards are sufficiently packed in shipping boxes
  • Label shipping boxes according to contents and delivery address as required
  • Ensure shipping documentation is completed accurately as required
  • Use various courier computer and online shipping systems as required
  • Provide back up for Head Shipper as required

_Receiving Duties: _

  • Ensure incoming material is received according to purchase order requirements
  • Ensure customer RMA’s are processed as required
  • Ensure supplier RMR’s are processed as required
  • Ensure incoming material discrepancies are resolved
  • Using the electronic scanning program (Juki), assign the part to appropriate locations
  • Inform QA of any damaged incoming shipments

_Kitting Duties: _

  • Prepare kits of components for production using the automated Juki solution (electronic scanning program)
  • Ensure correct manufacturer of various components are kitted as required for specific customer’s kits
  • Notify program managers and buyers of kitting discrepancies
  • Ensure correct count of components kitted
  • Issue allocations to jobs as required
  • Ensure components are properly packaged in kit using ESD handling
  • Inform Warehouse Team Lead or Warehouse Manager if any inventory adjustment is needed
  • Other kitting or related tasks as required

_General Duties: _

  • Maintain and upkeep work area within 5S requirements (i.e., ensure area is clean, maintained and organized at all times)
  • During down times or quiet times, the Warehouse Associate is responsible for ensuring all areas of the warehouse are clean, maintained and organized, and will help other warehouse areas as needed.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong team player skills, with a willingness to assist and support others within the team and outside the team as business needs dictate

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Knowledge of using PDA to locate, modify and place the parts
  • Knowledge to complete various waybills and use of transportation online systems
  • Understanding of quality systems
  • Knowledge and demonstrated understanding of ESD control
  • Position may involve occasional physical demands such as lifting of heavy objects
  • Understanding and demonstrated knowledge using ERP systems
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of quality systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of electronic components and stock control.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in an electronic warehouse or related industry setting
  • Previous warehouse experience preferred
  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Current forklift certification a plus
