Job Advert Summary:
Rand Water is looking for Operations Manager under Bulk Water Distribution in the Operations Division to provide leadership and management to the Operations Team for the effective management of all regions with its various districts safely and cost effectively and co
- ordination of the available resources within the distribution system ensuring minimum disruptions in water supply to the consumers
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12
- Driver's license
- Minimum Education: Engineering Qualification or equivalent ( NQF Level 7).
- Desired Education ( added advantage ) : G.C.C. Government Certificate of Competence. Preferably with a management qualification and Professional Registration ( ECSA)
- Minimum Experience : 3 years proven management experience in technical / operational enviroment
- Desired Experience : 5 years operational in the Water Industry
Primary Duties:
- Ensure that water is supplied in the right quantity and quality to meet the drinking water standards.
- Manage the operational assets in line with best principles of operations management.
- Manage operational requirements within budget and timelines.
- Manage the appropiate systems for measuring necessary aspects of operational management and development.
- Joint problem solving with Metros and Municipalities during breakdowns, shutdowns and water shortage incidents
- Liase with other managers so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of operational development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, operating philosophies, purpose and achievement.
- Embrace organisational mission, vision,strategy and strategic objectives.
- Enhance stakeholder management by embrasing contractual requiremens, protocols and procedures
- Contribution to the evaluation of strategy and performance of Operations Division.
- Ensure activities meet with and integrate with organisational requirements for qualtiy management, health and safety, legal requirement and enviroment policies.
- Overall responsibilty for continuous certification of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
- Ensure that the divisional risks are assessed regularly in order to align to the Corporate Strategic Risks.
- Management of staff, mentoring, coaching and development.

- Sound knowledge of Operations Management.

- Experience in general management knowledge, i.e, good general understanding of all aspects of the business
