Job Advert Summary:
Purpose:
To effectively lead, guide and manage the functions essential to servicing and underwriting. To drive and deliver exceptional performance delivery through maximum effectiveness in the underwriting and service administration areas to our customers.
Scope:
The scope of the role entails planning, reporting, quota setting and management, Learning and Development program implementation, design and administration, and overseeing the recruitment and selection of talent.
Minimum Requirements:
Education:
- Industry relevant NQF Level 5 - 120 credits
- A relevant bachelor’s degree
Experience:
- 10 years Short Term insurance experience of which 5 years is in a management role
- Have a broader understanding of the regulatory environment in which the Organisation functions
Knowledge and Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of Short-Term Operations, processes and regulations
- Experience in the development and enhancement of current business processes
- Knowledge of risk management, credit principles, IT and Short-Term systems
- MS Office package, particularly, Internet, Outlook and Excel
- Excellent Knowledge of Short-Term Systems

Duties and Responsibilities:
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Analyse and interpret all management information and recommend corrective actions though regular engagements. Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement -Within your area of responsibility
- Makes decisions wrt complex underwriting matters and servicing queries
- Works closely with service consultants to inspect servicing process quality and prioritise opportunities for improvement. Assists management in understanding process bottlenecks and inconsistencies. Facilitates an organisation of continuous process improvement
- To entrench a culture of service excellence within the Operations Area of you responsibility in order to adhere to and exceed committed timeframes
- Coordinate forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within The Unit. Proactively monitors and strives to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency
- Manage and oversee the function
- Ability to work accurately within tight deadlines and high workload whilst treating staff and clients fairly
- Build, maintain and manage relationships with all stakeholders. Lead and manage the managers in your area of responsibility by providing both technical and interpersonal guidance to achieve performance targets and to ensure understanding by regular one on one discussions.
