Engineering company in the West Rand is looking to employ a qualified Fitter and Turner as a Field Service Technician with Mechanical pump experience (Centrifugal Pumps/Slurry pumps) Your main objective will be to ensure that all existing and new customers receive appropriate technical support in order to maximise product operating efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Qualified Artisan: Fitter and Turner or a millwright
Valid Driver’s License - Code 8
Requirements:
Underground and surface product support including troubleshooting and fitment of new or repaired components
Underground and surface support including pump commissioning, end-user training and product condition monitoring
The identification of repair work/business in the form of complete pump overhauls as well as sub-assemblies during your technical interventions with the products and end-users
Develop strong relationships with end-users, specifically Mine Shaft Foremen and Fitters
Service exchange delivery and fitment which may include breakdowns
Training
Training will be provided in order to develop the appropriate skills and knowledge in order to effectively carry out the primary functions of the role as detailed above
Systems training as required
Product knowledge upgrades
Product knowledge and ongoing upgrades as required
Safety
At all times maintain safety standards set by the relevant customer and the Company
Use correct safety equipment as and when required
Observe all mine health and safety regulations

Parameters Of The Job
Non-smoking environment
Able and willing to work daily underground in mines
All Personal Protective Equipment requirements at “Client” or as required by Client must be met and adhered to at all times
Mine, office and factory environment
Overtime or weekend work
Travel over long distances including International Travel
Irregular hours at time
