Food Safety : Lead Auditor

Reporting to Programme Manager: Food Safety

Direct reports : Auditors

Main purpose of the job

To ensure compliance by conducting regulatory food safety audits as mandated by the APS Act number 119 of 1990 in accordance with regulation R707 and to supervise activities of direct reports to ensure organizational compliance and client satisfaction.

High level job objectives

  • To ensure food safety certification service delivery to clients in line with the organizations’ regulatory mandate
  • To inform clients on regulatory food safety compliance standards and SAMSA requirements/compliance
  • To ensure compliance to Human Capital policies and procedures
  • To ensure compliance to Finance policies and procedures
  • To ensure compliance to quality management systems
  • Job Requirements- Tertiary qualification of a Diploma/Degree (Food Technology and Agriculture).
  • Lead Auditor qualification
  • HACCP (based on principles of Code Alimentarius) Certificate
  • SAATCA Registration
  • GLOBAL G.A.P training
  • Pesticide, Fertilizer and IPM training
  • Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015)
  • Experience Time Span Essential Desirable
  • Food safety auditing experience 5 years

Knowledge

  • Food Hygiene
  • Good agricultural, distribution, storage and processing practices
  • Quality Management Systems 9001:2015
