Position Summary

Reporting to the General Manager of the GREENSTEEL Academy, the Learning and Development Manager supports the delivery of the Academy’s global strategy and plan through the design and development of innovative learning programmes, tools and resources which meet a variety of training needs to suit all levels across the organization. These initiatives align with workforce planning outcomes and complex, unique business contexts to support the rapid growth in capability of our people at scale.

The role suits an engaging leader who can manage a team of quality driven, creative content designers and developers to support their performance and ensure the Academy’s products are delivered on time and within scope.

This role requires a deep understanding of adult learning, a passion for workforce learning and using modern approaches and tools, as well as building the capability of others and taking full accountability for delivering quality solutions at pace. The Learning and Development manager contributes to business and team projects and tasks outside their immediate responsibilities as changing priorities emerge.

The ability to communicate effectively at all levels and across all formats is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing full support to the General Manager in the communication and delivery of the Academy’s strategy and plans
  • Leading a small team of content developers including goal setting and managing deliverables
  • Identifying and managing external learning suppliers
  • Leading the design and development of Academy training programmes and supporting assets
  • Leading the design of communications and engagement campaigns of Academy initiatives
  • Identification and implementation of appropriate digital tools
  • Providing consultancy on Learning and Development approaches and tools to the wider workforce development community across the Group
  • Creating processes and policies to support learning and development activities as agreed with our stakeholders
  • Proactively supporting the GREENSTEEL Academy team and stakeholders with any additional ad-hoc tasks as required

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified
  • Qualification in production of online content desired
  • Qualification in instructional design and learning programme development

Software

Essential:

  • Mastery of eLearning authoring tools - preferably using Articulate 360 experience
  • Mastery of Office365 tools, especially PowerPoint
  • Understanding of Learning Management Systems

Highly desirable:

  • Video editing
  • Yammer
  • SharePoint and WordPress website design
  • LMS365 Administration

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience managing digital and traditional learning projects, campaigns and events in a corporate learning environment including communications, branding and engagement activities
  • Experience in curating and combining internal and external learning resources from a variety of sources into a cohesive training programme
  • Comfortable exploring complex information and questioning key stakeholders about future critical skills requirements to identify probable learning needs
  • Demonstration of innovative thinking and learning agility in picking up creative and learning software e.g. Dynamic QR codes, 360 image photography
  • Understanding and awareness of current and up and coming learning trends and technologies
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with great attention to detail
  • Knowledge of workforce planning activities highly desirable
  • Knowledge of LEAN SIX SIGMA methodologies highly desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communications for different audiences
  • Ability to work effectively remotely through Microsoft Teams
  • Excellent written and spoken business English. Other languages desirable
