CRICKET MANAGER

Position Summary: The Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is currently recruiting a Full-Time Cricket Manager, who is outgoing, creative and innovative with all levels of Cricket. The position is to support the Cricket Activity in implementing the Activity’s strategy and be the ‘face of cricket’ at the Club for all Activity Members, and for members of the Club. Also, be responsible for raising the profile of the
Activity both within and outside the Club. The role provides administrative and operational support to the Cricket Activity and liaises with internal departments and outside vendors.

An Overview of Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and effectively run administration of the Activity
- Play an active role in communication to support Activity members, address member concerns in a timely manner and raise the profile of the activity within the broader club membership
- Coach and/or manage coaches to develop skill levels of cricketers of multiple age and talent levels including League teams, Stragglers/Associates, and Juniors
- Coach and/or manage coaching for multiple facets of the game, including technical skills of batting, bowling (spin and pace), wicket keeping, fielding, game strategy, mental skills, and leadership skills
- Develop and implement skills development programs for the Activity’s junior development priority, including Cricket Kidz and
- Toronto Cricket Academy programs, using coaching material sourced from appropriate organizations such as ICC, ECB, CricketAustralia, or Cricket Canada
- Measure program success on a sessional basis; implement programming changes based on member feedback and recommendations; reinvent annual events as required to keep things “fresh and innovative”
- Write submissions for annual Activities Book and the Weekly e-letter
- Ensure creation and promotion of online program registration adhere to deadlines
- Liaise with grounds staff on issues relating to the use and condition of the ground
- Liaise with Cricket Canada, Cricket Council of Ontario and the Toronto & District Cricket Association to nurture strong relationships and potential representative team selection opportunities
- Liaise with the Cricket Committee efforts to develop and implement strategic plans
- Implement junior development and promotion within team selection criteria
- Organize umpires in coordination with Toronto District Cricket Association (TDCA); arrange umpire’s compensation with accounts office
- Manage inventory and order required equipment and apparel
Required Experience, Training and Skills:
- Post-Secondary Education with a specialization in Sports Management or related field is required, or a combination of training and experience is desirable
- Strong cricket background that supports the experience, skills and credibility needed to coach and/or manage league cricketers
- Recognized ICC Member coaching qualifications - minimum Level 2 an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Leadership skills, including the ability to motivate
- Organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task
- Experience working in the Private Club industry an asset, but not required
- Working proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; ability to learn Northstar
- Current CPR/First Aid certifications recommended
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
