Entry Level Fire Technician

In business since 2004, *Escape Fire Protection Ltd. *is a well-established sprinkler-system contractor with a thriving Fire Service Division - we are looking to bring on an Entry Level Fire Technician for full-time employment. Work is available is throughout the Lower Mainland and you will be provided with a company work vehicle.

The Responsibilities

  • Assist in performing basic services: fire extinguishers, fire alarms, emergency lights and sprinkler systems, adhering to regulations, Fire Code and Municipality guidelines
  • Install and maintain various types of fire protection systems at customer sites
  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions to service-related problems
  • Participate in mandatory safety training and industry certifications
  • Inspect, service and troubleshoot existing systems
  • Maintain proper handling/care of testing/inspections tools, equipment, and materials
  • Inspect, repair, and test fire extinguishers systems
  • Dismantle and examine extinguisher parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling means.
  • Clean and recharge extinguishers with approved materials.
  • Deliver excellent customer service while conducting quality inspections.
  • Understand and practice applicable NFPA codes and standards
  • Learn to perform code-compliant inspections of addressable and conventional systems
  • Submit applicable forms and reports as per EFP policy, using various programs
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures set by Escape Fire Protection.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Qualifications

  • Excellent communication with customers, coworkers, and non-technical staff
  • Willingness to complete additional training and coursework to gain further credentials
  • Proven electrical and/or mechanical aptitude
  • Valid BC Driver’s License with a clear driver’s abstract.

Hours of Work

  • Full-Time, Permanent
  • Monday to Friday
  • 8-hour shifts
  • Please note that compensation is dependent on experience._
