An ECD center in Pinelands is seeking to place an Educator to teach their 3-4 year’ old class. Since the center runs an interactive curriculum, the perfect educator is one who is creative by nature, with an energetic personality and able to manage a teacher’s assistant.
Hours: 07h00 - 17h15
Minimum Requirements:
- B-Ed qualification / NQF Level 6 Teaching Diploma
- 2+ years’ ECD classroom teaching experience
- Well communicated in English First Language
- Will be an advantage, if familiar with the GROW Programme
- Must be CPR accredited
Salary: R8 000 basic slightly negotiable
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Planning Files - capturing all weekly planning
- Designing weekly lesson plans that include literacy, numeracy, theme discussions, music, drama, movement, science and make and bake.
- Designing theme tables and theme walls
- Managing theme drawers containing theme related resources
- Designing Term Activity Planners for the parents
- Constructing “term newsletters” communicating what the children have been learning and sharing fun stories about the term.
- Assessment Files
- Designing continuous assessment pages
- Capturing observations onto assessment pages
- Writing a second term and fourth term report and comments
- Constructing science experiments/lessons and make and bake lessons
- Attending and participating in weekly staff meetings
- Keeping an organised staff development file
