Als Paramedic for Cruise Ship

MatchMedics is on the hunt for ALS Paramedics who love to travel to work onboard some of the world's largest cruise ships.

Paramedic Requirements:

• A valid accredited ALS/ACLS certificate prior to joining a vessel. NO EMTS WILL BE CONSIDERED*
• Paramedic diploma and active registration / lisense to practice.
• 3 years of clinical experience as an ADVANCED (ALS) Paramedic.
• A commitment to completing at least two four-month contracts within a twelve month period.
• Fluency in English.

Paramedic - The Role:

• Paramedics are responsible for providing high standards of individualized routine and emergency care to guests and crew.
• Through the use of specific patient group directives, paramedics are able to practice autonomously under the authority of doctors, assessing patients and providing treatment and advice for specific conditions.
• In additional to first response duties, paramedics work closely with shipboard nurses and doctors to attend to patients attending daily walk-in clinics.
• Technical skills are learned and practiced on board, such as X rays acquisition, and performing a wide-array of laboratory tests and other procedures.MatchMedics are working with the largest and most diverse health services group in the cruise industry on the lookout for over 20 ALS paramedics to provide quality healthcare to their guests and crew while they sail the world creating lasting memories.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Paramedic applicants must hold an Advanced Life Support Paramedic Qualification (or equivalent) and current registration and licensing to practice with an appropriate governmental or national regulatory body (American paramedics need to hold a national registration as a Paramedic, no EMTs are accepted). Applicants must have at least three years post graduate clinical experience in paramedicine, emergency medicine or other acute care settings including remote medicine, and most recent work experience should be in a clinical setting. Additional requirements include:

• A valid accredited ALS/ACLS certificate prior to joining a vessel
• A Valid passport
• Eligibility to be issued a United States C1/D Visa (Not applicable for US and Canadian citizens)
• Fluency in English, both conversational and technical
• Outstanding interpersonal, customer services and communication skills
• A commitment to completing at least two four-month contracts within a twelvemonth period

Salary: R64,000.00 per month
