FGW Generators in Cape Town is looking to employ a Diesel Technician/Mechanic.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance services on diesel generators as main duty
- Diagnosis and fault finding, mechanical and electrical Prepare (PDI) generators for delivery
- Assist with generator set breakdowns and any other general duties
- Test run generators to gauge performance
- Maintaining detailed records of the services/callouts
- Available for after hours and/or standby time
- Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist
- Adhering to warranty procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Desired Experience and Qualification:
- Code 8 Drivers licence
- Applicants must have completed a trade test or tertiary qualification for Diesel Mechanic/Electro-mechanical
- Have at least +5 years post qualification experience
- Knowledge and field experience of various engine brand, i.e. Scania, Perkins, Mitsubishi etc
- Knowledge and field experience with electrical harnesses and control equipment
- Be able to communicate respectfully with all customers and employees
- Be a team player and must have excellent supervisory skills

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Cape Town, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
Education:
- Certificate (preferred)
