Duties and Responsibilties:
- Plan and implement supply chain optimization projects (e.g. warehouse-slotting, route planning)
- Manage and monitor the performance of entire fleet, routing, vehicle load distribution and scheduling planning
- Oversee inventory procedures
- Coordinate with in-house sales team to promote accurate and timely processing of orders for customers
- Knowledge of vehicle tracking and camera systems
- Management of SLA’s
- Fleet management/ servicing and maintenance (cars, vans, trucks, and forklifts), license renewals and Fleet tyre management
- Support with maintenance of logistics policies, procedures, support plans and similar data.
- Health and safety knowledge and training
- HRM training and knowledge (investigations, hearings, performance management and coaching)
- Working knowledge of budgets and forecasting
- Develop requirements and standards (e.g. packaging, procurement, delivery)
- Discover the most cost-effective transport modes and schedules - quality, quantity and delivery time
- Help foster trusting relationships with vendors and team members
- Evaluate vendor operations according to quality standards
- Collaborate with IT professionals to implement effective systems
- Track KPIs and report on supply chain performance
- 3PL management
- Aarto regulation
- Lean Six Sigma/ Continuous Improvement
- Management of CPK and fleet book value evaluation
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Proficiency in computer databases and logistics programs
- 5 years of experience in the logistics industry or related industry
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases and systems
- Familiarity with supply chain processes (e.g. Inventory planning, warehouse management)
- Strong analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude
- Strong attention to detail
- Great interpersonal skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: Up to R13,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
