Payroll Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the accurate processing of new employees, transfers, promotions, terminations, garnishees, overtime, bonuses payable and other payroll related services
  • Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports
  • Complete, verify and process all forms and documentation (Provident fund, leave)
  • Accurate and timeous submission of payroll reconciliations, queries and reports.
  • Reviewing and updating information submitted by payroll clerks and administrators
  • Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll production
  • Oversee the maintenance of current employee data systems
  • Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements
  • Prepare and review payroll account reconciliations
  • Ensure that leave is accurately and timeously captured and that the accrued leave is managed monthly,
  • Maintaining accuracy and integrity of the SAGE payroll system information
  • Handle all payroll related queries where appropriate (Including SARS, UIF, Provident fund)
  • Support all internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements
  • Interpret new legislation impacting payroll
  • Determine payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee PAYE, UIF, COIDA,
  • Responsible to manage the full payroll function of the company weekly, monthly and annually + 2000 employees
  • Advise and guide staff on company policies relating to payroll/payments when necessary
  • Collaborate with Operations teams and HR to ensure that staff is accurately paid
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of payroll staff
  • Performance manage and develop payroll staff
  • Manage payroll workload to meet operational requirements
  • Process payroll checks for executive staff
  • Review and improve payroll policies and procedures
  • Verify all overtime hours with the Operations department
  • Perform a first review of payroll prior submitting to management for review
  • Providing information for forecasting and budgeting purposes
  • Maintaining the Integrity of Equity Reports - and assist with Statistical Equity Reporting

Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Degree or Diploma in Finance/ Payroll
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • 5 years SaAGE 300 Ppayroll experience for more than 2000 employees
  • EMP 201 and EMP 501 experience
  • Experience with E Filing and Easyfile
  • Managing Payroll Clerks
  • Accounting expos
