Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the Resident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer (ARE) with site construction supervision and inspection work
- Assisting the engineering team in various construction activities to ensure construction complies with the client’s specifications
- Assisting in project administration including writing reports, gathering information, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and following up with progress, safety and site logistics reports
- Providing documentation relating to changes in contract work
- Inspecting construction materials to ensure compliance with contract specifications
- Directly coordinating with the contractors regarding daily construction activities such as the installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and client’s requirements
- Ensuring the subcontractors comply with operational and safety standards
- Assisting to identify, respond to or evaluate field construction technical issues to maintain the schedule
- Assisting in the verification of field measurements
- Assisting in the reviewing and supervising subcontractor daily and weekly inspection reports
- Participating in weekly construction review meetings with Engineering team
Skill Set:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (or equivalent) is required
- Maximum of three years of experience.
- Good knowledge of the principles and practices of civil / architectural engineering
- Excellent written & verbal English communication skills
- Proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural design is also required.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work productively with all project stakeholders
- Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments and prioritize with input from the Assistant Resident Engineer and Resident Engineer
- Ability to multi-task and deliver to tight deadlines
Working Conditions
- 48 hours per week, 6 days per week, 8am -5pm
- Time is split between the office and working on site
