At Jacobs, ports aren’t just structures but are ways we connect people and goods. We’re seeking a Document Controller with Aconex experience to help support with oversight on everyday project tasks on a major port project.

Jacobs is delivering engineering and construction management services on a significant port project in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The port is to be the world’s first state-of-the-art container terminal integrated with a logistics hub at its core, whilst continuing to serve a variety of other commodities through its general cargo facility and bulk handling equipment. The port has a rail connection as well as an automated warehouse to support the supply chain.

Project scope mainly comprises of Marine works including quay walls, breakwater, revetment and dredging, Onshore civil, electrical, mechanical, and structural works, buildings, and Rail.

Working from our client's site in Saudi Arabia, as a Document Controller you will be responsible for the tracking, management and overall control of project documentation for Construction Supervision (CS) staff on site.

You will also be expected to:

  • Support the document control process for change documentation using current systems available, i.e. Aconex
  • Take ownership of existing Change Register and keeping it up to date with Change Request, Change Authorisation Request, Instruction and Agreed Value of Instruction information
  • Monitor performance where change documents are not being progressed within agreed timescales. Provision of administrative support, where required
  • QA check all information coming on to the systems and process accordingly
  • Follow the distribution matrix for internal distribution of documents and correspondence
  • Produce quantitative, status and analysis reports
  • Support senior staff on routine and ad hoc project-wide assignments
