Your Responsibilities

Entity Controlling for HK office
Full set of accounts
Preparation of periodic financial & management reports (incl. financial projections)
Responsible for month-end/year-end closing activities, namely:

  • Journal entries posting for closing
  • Prepare,full set of Statement of Financial Positions (SFP)* and audit & tax schedules** (supporting financial accounts and data)
  • Preparation of Statutory Accounts

Liaise with Group Finance teams, auditors (internal / external) and other consultants.
Budgeting, cashflow and liquidity management (including periodic forecasts 3+9 / 6+6 / 9+3)
Maintain all (accounting) procedures/controls, advise on general financial matters
Respond to regular/ad-hoc data and report requests from other stakeholders.
Assist with queries and information requests, audit confirmations, manage, monitor and resolve audit issues.

  • *includes (non-exhaustive) Directors Report, Income and Cashflow statement and explanatory notes to the financial figures. Business Risk Management Questionnaire (BRMQ) and Account Disclosure Document for licensed corporations (ADD)_
  • **act as tax representative of VPWHK for matter of tax computations, profit tax returns including submission to the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) in Hong Kong._

Regulatory Reporting
Prepare regulatory monitoring and submissions to SFC (e.g. monthly FRR financial returns)
Liaise with regulators and internal / external stakeholders on financial and regulatory reporting matters.
- recurring regulatory reports: annually - BRMQ, Joint Product Survey SFC/HKMA, Asset and Wealth Management Activities Survey.

Project and others
Prepare all corporate tax submissions of HK office
Participate in projects, systems implementation and enhancements
Other ad-hoc tasks assigned including backing up department tasks for vacation coverage

Your Profile

Business degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
At least 4-5 years of accounting and financial management experience (preferably with a bank)
Prior experience in HK regulatory reporting a must (e.g. SFC's Accounts & Audit, Keeping of Records and Financial Resources Rules etc.)
Strong technical knowledge
Strong sense of responsibility
Experience with Avaloq, SAP & Abacus preferred
