Probably the most visible position in cannabis retail is that of the budtender. As a budtender you are the heart of your customer service and sales teams - you will do most of the interacting with shoppers and help guide them on their buying journey. You will need to be enthusiastic and personable so that you can use your extensive cannabis product knowledge to guide customers to the appropriate recreational product and provide impeccable customer service while complying with all regulations.

Budtenders should be enthusiastic, personable, and knowledgeable. They must provide customers with prompt service and quality products while maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. Budtenders are responsible for assisting the management team with the activities and operations of the store while abiding by all policies, procedures, and operational guidelines. Budtender will also can train and educate novice budtenders in cannabis products and customer service skills and also be provided with ample opportunity to expand their own connoisseur skills on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Guide and direct customers in their cannabis purchasing journey
  • Answer customer questions and concerns
  • Meet and exceed sales goals
  • Ensure compliance in all transactions
  • Assist with opening/closing of the store and other tasks as assigned
  • Providing education to customers on products and accessories available at the store
  • Knowledge of basic computer functions
  • Knowledge of POS systems
  • Unpack, sort, count, and label merchandise as directed
  • Execute daily tasks and merchandising needs while ensuring customer priority
  • Maintain store cleanliness by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and organizing display
  • Taking inventory and assisting in inventory-related tasks as directed by the Inventory manager
  • Building a loyal customer base
  • Using sales cycle to offer consistent customer experience
  • Cash handling and other duties as directed

Qualifications and Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods
  • In-depth knowledge of all products carried in-store
  • Impeccable customer service
  • One (1) year customer service experience
  • One (1) year retail sales experience
  • Must be able to lift up to 25lbs
  • Current Selling It Right certification

Salary: $19.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Hope, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
