Female Personal Trainer

Reporting to: Personal Training Manager
- The personal trainer will create pre-arranged programs of exercises designed to enhance overall fitness, strength, and endurance while ensuring that the safety of the members is not compromised. The personal trainer will also serve as a resource to educate members on various aspects of fitness. They will provide training and leadership for new personal trainers, GGX instructors, and fitness advisors. They will have responsibility for supporting the personal training department and ensuring that our clients that have unique training packages are retained. The Personal Trainer will role model the company’s values and culture.

Major Responsibilities are (But are not limited to):

  • Have the ability to teach, perform and scale the company’s foundational movements.
  • Monitor and assist members in ensuring the proper form is used while performing movements/workouts.
  • Believe in and create the experience of Gold’s Gym within each class, as well as throughout daily member engagement.
  • Develop programs specialized for individual members.
  • Focus on the active member base to continue to increase utilization, and drive more extensive clientele to create a competitive and fun environment.
  • Maintain current knowledge of company pricing and promotions regarding Gold’s Gym Calgary and help to ensure all personal trainers are aware.
  • Conduct personal training sessions with clients.
  • Have one a week or daily meetings with the Personal Training Manager
  • Complete two walkarounds per day to ensure that the gym is tidy and well-maintained.
  • Maintain positive relationships with the entire gym staff.
  • Report on the maintenance logs any issues with equipment or machines.

Qualifications and requirements:

  • Evening Availability Required
  • More than one year of professional experience in the fitness industry is preferred.
  • Nutritional background and certification preferred.
  • Active and current Personal Training certification(s) is required.
  • Experience in personal training and or instructing group exercise classes is required.
  • Experience with full-body “functional” movements such as the deadlift, pull-up, swing, press, kettlebell training, etc.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different customer needs.
  • Salary: $24 / hr. to $36/ hr. + commission
