Duties/Pligte

1. Programme administration:

  • Short courses administration and registrations.

2. Academic support to students:

  • Providing postgraduate diploma assignment administration and academicsupport to students;
  • Responsible for purchasing of textbooks/learning material;
  • Responsible for postgraduate diploma summer/winter school logistics.

3. Finance and operations:

  • Responsible for financial transactions towards the postgraduate diploma programme;
  • Shared responsibility to maintain social media platforms, website and marketing materials;
  • Managing venue bookings;
  • Maintaining appropriate filing systems for key documentation.

4. Secretarial and ad hoc:

  • Performing secretarial duties for academic meetings;
  • Performing general receptionist duties should the need arise;
  • Any other duties that might be necessary from time to time.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

  • Two-year post-Matric qualification;
  • At least three years' administrative work experience;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • The ability to perform under pressure;
  • Proven organisational skills;
  • An independent, responsible, problem-solving, and collaborative working approach.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

  • A tertiary qualification;
  • Experience working in a student support role;
  • Experience in basic financial administration;
  • Knowledge of Stellenbosch University's central computer systems (e.g., TeraTerm, SUNStudent and SUNLearn).
