The MRG Group is looking for part time Security Officers to join our pubs and clubs in Vancouver!
Our Security Officers do more than ensure the safety and security of our guests, staff and buildings. Often as the first point of contact, they are also Brand Ambassadors and help greet guests, see them on their way and be the person on point when an issue may arise.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Report to work in uniform at posted schedule time
- Physically able to stand for long periods of time
- Ensure all guests are being greeted as they are entering the property
- Keep an eye out for patrons who may have had too much to drink and offer assistance (water, fresh air).
- Keep track of capacity levels
- Ensure patrons who are visually intoxicated are not permitted to enter (or stay on) premises
- Keep and eye on the floor and anticipates the needs of guests and fellow team members
- Point out where washrooms, ATM’s, coat check or other specifics for the property may be (seating locations, mechanical bull etc.)
- ID All patrons who appear to be under legal drinking age
- Conduct bag checks as required
- Effectively communicate with team and offer support as their needs may require
- Ends service by offering a heartfelt thank you and inviting the guest to visit again
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Valid British Columbia Security License
- Able to work well with staff and public
- Interact with a diverse population
- Work with minimum supervision and react quickly
- Communicate effectively and calmly in a variety of situations
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Willingness to assist peers
- Able to work independently or as part of a team
- Security experience working in the hospitality industry (Bars or Nightclubs an asset)
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Able to work on the weekends and holidays, including late nights and into the wee hours of the morning
- It’s a bonus if you already have Serving It Right certification!
