Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

You'll be working as part of the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) Team at Ovo Energy where our key focus is promoting the installation of energy efficiency retrofit measures (such as improved insulation and heating) in eligible fuel poor homes. We're here to make sure that key targets are compliantly achieved.

The ECO obligation, mandated by government, aims to help improve the energy efficiency of householders who meet the criteria of being fuel poor.

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Commercial Compliance Manager, you will help ensure that OVO's ECO delivery remains compliant through proactive engagement with our delivery partners and internal teams, seeking to protect OVO's brand and the ECO Team's commercials. You will support the management of our key commercial compliance risks including; ECO Monitoring, internally or externally reported compliance irregularities, potential fraud, commercial disputes, complaints and 3rd party information requests.

Where issues are identified you will support the management of these to conclusion, collaborating closely with Ofgem, the ECO supply chain and internal teams as necessary. You will carry out investigation activities as well as recommending actions and strategies that can be put in place by the ECO team to prevent the business being susceptible to such risks in future.

Working with the Commercial Compliance Manager you will carry out due-diligence for new delivery Partners and Installers as well as working to support existing delivery partners understand and protect against key risks.

In addition, you will play a key role coordinating ECO referrals. These referrals will help eligible OVO customers gain access to ECO4 and ECO+ funded energy efficiency improvements.

It is crucial that our compliance positions and financial records are kept up to date and accurate. As a regulatory obligation, ECO is high-profile, with non-compliance likely to lead to enforcement action (including fines up to 10% of Ovo Group turnover) and negative publicity.

Key responsibilities include:
Fraud Prevention and Coordination

  • Administering the irregular measures processes and systems, ensuring the status, scope of investigations, actions and notes are up to date
  • Carry out evidence checks within an investigation to determine whether the misrepresentation of measures has taken place.
  • Ensures timely escalation to Commercial Compliance Manager of material irregular measure investigations
  • Identify and recommend preventative solutions to Commercial Compliance Manager following investigation of compliance issues
  • Assist in creating and delivering preventive workshops and communications to ensure compliance of ECO measures with external contracted partners
  • Assist in carrying out due diligence activities for external contracted partners and sub installers, recording findings and sharing with partners.
  • Review and identify potential Investigations as flagged by the ECO team
  • Produce the regular reports
  • Maintain the compliance and eco group inbox
  • Coordinate investigations from inception to completion seeking support from the Commercial Compliance Manager as required. This may include contacting external third party organisations and speaking directly with householders to verify information
  • Attend and support Ofgem or other external stakeholder meetings and workshops.

Additional Accountabilities:
Complaints

  • Coordinate the complaints processes ensure they are dealt with in a timely manner and responding to the appropriate contacts
  • Work with the wider team and delivery partners to rectify any complaints including weekly meetings with the relevant stakeholders
  • Maintain the complaints system
  • Assist in the resolution of complaints ensuring avoidance of contractual disputes

ECO Referrals

  • Coordinating the referrals process for ECO and ECO+
  • This will include correspondence with householders, selecting an appropriate partner, providing reporting to the Contact Management Team and ensuring leads are d
