Responsible for the accurate and safe dispensing of prescription medications, assisting the pharmacist with preparation of medications for dispensing, counting stock and restocking shelves, calling in prescriptions to pharmacies, filing, and processing insurance forms.
Responsibilities:
- Have strong communication skills with patients/customers, healthcare providers, and suppliers.
- Be able to receive and input prescriptions into a computer database.
- Work closely with the pharmacist when preparing and dispensing medications.
- Order and organize medications for patients.
- Communicate with other health professionals about patients' medications and needs.
- Uphold standards of professional conduct.
- Follow protocols and procedures when giving out prescriptions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient pharmacy environment.
- Successfully maintain patient confidentiality.
- Understand blister packaging and vaccination processing.
Other assets:
- familiar with Kroll software
