Job Description
Engagement

  • Lead the review and management of ACCIONA Energia’s Indigenous Participation Plans - both at the company and project level
  • Support project-based Indigenous Engagement resources to develop and deliver project plans, implementation plans, monitoring, and evaluation plans to support the delivery of the above-mentioned Indigenous Participation Plans.
  • Support the development of Cultural Heritage plans including the co-ordination of relevant inputs from internal stakeholders and aligning business priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for targeted benefits to Indigenous Peoples in Project areas and provide guidance and support delivery of social investment programs to Aboriginal communities.
  • Act autonomously as a key/formal company contact point for communication and engagement with Indigenous group representatives, including face-to-face meetings.
  • Identification and communication to relevant internal stakeholders of potential risks/ issues which may arise and escalation where necessary.
  • Participate in and delivery of local ACCIONA Energia Indigenous engagement focused events and activities.
  • Provide support to other business units to guide and manage Indigenous engagement through the entire project value chain - i.e. Business Development, Engineering and Construction, Operations and Maintenance.
  • Build company profile externally in relation to Indigenous collaboration on projects through industry and community channels.

Participation

  • Support and develop strategies for ACCIONA Energia to meet or exceed its project related Indigenous targets for training, employment and contracting opportunities
  • Manage contractor and service provider relationship issues which may impact Indigenous groups.
  • Support Indigenous suppliers to increase access to ACCIONA Energia’s supply chain.

Education and Awareness

  • Provide advice and support to the HR team and others in the business to ensure upskilling including cultural awareness training for members of the Energia business
  • Recognise opportunities for additional training and education pertaining to Indigenous self-determination
    Required Skills and Competencies
  • Tertiary qualification or relevant professional experience in a similar industry
  • Experience in engaging effectively with Indigenous communities
  • Demonstrated understanding of the issues affecting Indigenous Australians
  • Demonstrated high level ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Indigenous people, and demonstrated high level capability and commitment to continue to develop cultural competency
  • Experience developing and implementing strategies to maximise opportunities and outcomes for Indigenous participation and engagement, including development of Reconciliation Action Plans
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated collaborative behaviours
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills - both targeted and relationship focused
  • Ability to effectively engage and influence internally and externally at a variety of levels and contexts to grow Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders understanding and culture
  • Self-starter and ability to work autonomously and flexibility and preparedness for ad-hoc travel
  • Current Victorian or equivalent Australian state driver’s license.
