Key Responsibilities:
- Perform internal and external inspections to ensure that the acceptance criteria of a specific code, standard or document are met
- Interpret regulations, codes and industry standards
- Perform inspection/NDT as required by job assignment
- Maintain equipment assigned to ensure that it is in good working condition
- Recommend and approve repairs and perform visual inspection of completed work
- Write detailed inspection reports and maintain documentation of inspections
- Compile and submit daily reports, inspection reports, and inter‐office communications in a timely manner
- Maintain positive relationships among all stakeholders: client, facility, customer and co-workers
- Provide training and guidance to junior inspectors
- Complete all required training, including tests, within Company guidelines
- Prepare risk assessment before commencement of work and ensure that all safety policies and procedures are strictly adhered to
- Ensure that the verification of the raw material / mechanical equipment verification is in compliance with specified requirements and specifications.
- Checking of welding consumables such as electrodes, filler wire, fluxes and shielding gases are met the requirements.
- Perform fit-up, visual and dimensional inspection and monitor all stages of welding
- Conduct piping or structural welding inspection as per required standards and project specifications.
- Requesting and witnessing NDT activities. If repair occurred, re-weld and re-inspect with the approved procedure.
- Record welding inspection results and prepare inspection reports.
- Reviewing NDT reports.
- Review material/weld traceability records.
- Deliver and improve upon inspection Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) through regular monitoring and stewardship.
- Witness load test of lifting gears
- Witness FAT of Various equipment and Instruments
- Witness Dimensional, NDE, and hydro tests of piping, structural, valves, and equipment
- Witness Material lab testing.
- To handle the inspection activities in structural fabrication projects, skid manufacturer clients, pressure vessels, pipe spools, etc
- To work as a third-party inspector to attend inspections in the fabrication shop, repair shop, plant shutdown, structural in buildings, NDT inspections, painting shops, test labs, etc and submit the reports.
- Knowledge of WPS/PQR and WQT tests
- To prepare or review the ITP, procedures and inspection reports.
- Review the project MDR documents.
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree holder
- Min with AWS-CWI or CSWIP 3.1 welding inspector certificate
- Min Bgas Level 2 or NACE Level II
- PCN RI Level II
- NDT level 2 certificates for PT/MT/UT/RI or RT
- Min 5 years of experience as QC or Welding Inspector with knowledge in fabrication and manufacturing.
- Familiar with welding processes such as SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, GTAW, SAW and etc.
- Knowledge in International codes AWS, ASME, API, BSEN, ASTM, DNV, and ABS
- Experience in the inspection of structural, skid assemblies, pressure vessels, pipe spools, etc
- Experience in the inspection of wellhead equipment will be added advantage.
- Must have Class 2B Licence
