We're making zero carbon happen

We're OVO Group, a big family of companies united by a single vision: to get to zero carbon, fast.

We call this Plan Zero - and it shows how we'll be fighting the climate crisis and transforming the way people use energy over the next decade. To do this, we need the sharpest minds. Are you up for the challenge?

Do great green things with OVO Energy

So much has changed since we launched in 2009. Our goal remains the same though: make energy cheaper, greener, and simpler. Just as it was on day one.

Everyone belongs at OVO

Our aim is to build a diverse and inclusive movement: teams of brilliant people, with unique talents, skills, passions, and experiences.

We encourage everyone to join us, whatever your gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, life experience, or background. So please come as you are - we can't wait to meet you.

Where in the world of OVO will I be working?

We're looking for an experienced Lead Identity and Access Product Owner to join our OVO Colleague Tech team. Colleague Tech encompasses everything from compute choices, service management to tooling; supporting our colleagues with great experiences where they interact with technology to do their job, whilst helping them on their journey to zero carbon by bringing them the right products, at the right time, at the right price. Our teams focus on securely shaping, defining and delivering the digital experiences for our colleagues.

This role is a senior position responsible for delivering Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM) capabilities that provide a great employee experience alongside improved security posture to support the exceptional service which our OVO customers & colleagues expect.

As part of the wider Ovo Tech team, you will be liaising and working with colleagues across Infrastructure, Resilience, Security, Delivery and Colleague Tech. You will be required to define and lead the delivery of a colleague Identity & Access Road-map which includes IAM and PAM solutions and provides a foundation for OVO's move to Zero Trust. This will involve significant stakeholder engagement, collaboration across teams and playing a critical role in our colleague experience plans. This role provides a breadth of opportunity rarely seen in such positions.

What will I be doing?

  • Setting the strategy and product vision throughout its lifecycle
  • Creating a blended team from pre-existing and temporary resources
  • Creating the policies
  • Deciding on (with others) and implementing the solution
  • Defining definition of done and when the project can move into continual improvement via BAU
  • Develop thinking and work with other teams for JML processes, SoD, Re-certification etc. This will also include ensuring integration with ITSM and SOC capabilities
  • Lead the function through audits and remediate findings
  • Acknowledge and align with the Customer Identity product manager
  • You'll work closely with the Head of Product and other Product Managers/Owners across our domains too.
  • You'll be able to do this within an Agile environment, whilst also being able to contribute Subject Matter Expertise to other projects and programmes that are underway across OVO Tech, that will likely result in identifying inter-dependencies spanning across remits.
  • You will proactively manage stakeholders to deliver the best outcomes for the business, embedding security and colleague experience at the heart of product decisions.

Key capabilities include:

  • You can demonstrate a strong understanding of the wider business and strategic context in your decision making.
  • You can communicate clearly and can deliver clear, professional, and confident presentations to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • You lead your team with an atmosphere of enthusiasm, fun and commitment.
  • You focus on how to get ideas off the ground quickly - identifying the thinnest slice possible to deliver meaningful value.
  • You champion your product both in and outside your team - understand how it fits into the wider product offering, how it could evolve and inspire your team to do more.
  • You are energised rather than intimidated by the challenge of demonstrating the value of colleague rather than customer-facing products.
  • You work with others to set ambitious OKRs and take the responsibility to meet them, establish clear priorities and find ways of articulating them with your own team and the wider business.
  • Be an ambassador for our wider product community - using that as an opportunity to learn, get support from other like minded individuals and give back to the wider OVO team.

Is this the job for me?

  • You are an accomplished and experienced product owner with a proven track record of delivering positive results
  • You are comfortable with the ambiguity that comes from working in a fast-paced environment and adaptable to changing market needs
  • Experienced across solution developm
