Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk. Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with US GAAP. Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company's performance. Assist VP of Finance with the annual budget and maintaining forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.
Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit. Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements. Manage one direct report; oversee training programs and identify training needs. Partner with the HR Team on benefits and payroll related projects.
Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required, masters degree or MBA a plus. 5 years or more of related experience required, ideally in a startup or fast-paced environment. Prior management or supervisory experience is also a plus.
