Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Processing and inputting of payroll data in respect of the College’s four payrolls
- Ensuring timeous payments to employees and third parties
- Accurate and timeous processing of payroll journals
- Approving Leave and claims in ESS
- Monthly summary and reconciliation of payroll-related ledger accounts
- Preparing and assisting in the completion of SARS and statutory related submissions
- Assist with audit queries
- Assisting the Payroll Manager as and when required
- Ensure to keep up to date with relevant payroll-related legislation
- Any additional projects and assignments that may arise
The requirements for this position are:
- A matric certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
- Previous experience in a payroll/HR related environment will be beneficial
- The initiative and ability to learn and master relevant payroll software packages
- Sound working knowledge of Windows and MS Office Suite is essential
- Experience in working with a payroll package is advantageous
- Ability to prepare summaries of ledger accounts and performing reconciliations of payroll-related accounts
- High level of integrity, discretion and unwavering commitment to confidentiality
- Organisational and time management skills to meet weekly and monthly deadlines is critical
- Ability to multi task, work under pressure and independently - deadlines are a priority and accuracy is a must
- Experience in handling challenging situations, assertively and diplomatically
- A sound work ethic and the ability to use initiative
