A leading intetnational consulting firm specializing in construction is seeking a great Environmental Manager to join their team in Medina - Saudi Arabia. As an Environmental Manager, you will play a crucial role in guiding and implementing sustainable initiatives for hotel projects in Saudi Arabia.
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing environmental aspects of hotel projects in Saudi Arabia, ensuring compliance with regulations and implementing sustainable practices. Your expertise in environmental consulting will be vital in assessing project impact, designing mitigation strategies, and providing guidance to project teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement environmental management strategies, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international standards.
- Conduct environmental assessments and impact studies, identifying potential risks and proposing mitigation measures to minimize adverse effects on the environment.
- Collaborate with project teams, architects, and engineers to integrate sustainable practices and green building principles into hotel design and construction processes.
- Provide expert advice on sustainable technologies, materials, and practices to optimize resource efficiency and reduce environmental footprint.
- Develop and deliver environmental training programs to project teams, contractors, and hotel staff, fostering awareness and ensuring adherence to environmental protocols.
- Establish and maintain relationships with local regulatory bodies, advocating for sustainable practices and obtaining necessary permits and certifications.
- Conduct regular environmental audits and monitor compliance with environmental policies and procedures, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement waste management, energy conservation, and water conservation programs for hotel projects.
- Stay updated on emerging environmental trends, regulations, and best practices within the hospitality industry, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Prepare environmental impact reports, sustainability assessments, and other relevant documentation for hotel projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in environmental management, particularly within the context of hotel projects and the hospitality industry.
- GCC experience required
- Strong knowledge of local and international environmental regulations, standards, and sustainability frameworks.
- Experience in conducting environmental impact assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of sustainable building practices and green certifications (e.g., LEED, Green Globe) is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in consulting or advisory roles, providing environmental expertise and guidance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in environmental management software and tools.
- Fluency in English is required; knowledge of Arabic is advantageous.
- Must be based in Saudi Arabia or willing to relocate
