Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
A typical day may include:
- You’ll collaborate, mentor, and guide your team members and PS consultants.
- You'll collaborate with internal teams on the new technologies and design and implement them in the internal labs.
- You'll be responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving the Global Cloud Labs infrastructure, mainly using the VMware Management product stack.
- You'll create internal solution documentation and specifications.
- You'll write code and script to produce automation and innovative solutions for our internal users.
- You'll research new technologies and provide technical guidance to management.
- You'll generate estimates and plans for delivery based on requirements and assumptions.
- You'll grow and maintain knowledge of the entire VMware product line.

- As a WWPS Global Cloud Labs Architect, the incumbents in this position have the crucial role and responsibility for architectural excellence, relentless execution, inspiring and transferring knowledge, and best industry practices as part of organizational strategic initiatives._

Total - 100% - Analyze users’ needs to produce technical solutions based on VMware technologies in the context of large enterprise environments meeting functional and non-functional requirements (secure, scalable, maintainable, etc.)
- Help us build self-service like infrastructure automation for internal needs and its components. Build, support, and maintain internal tools for the deployment of the shared development infrastructure, such as content templates or custom automation services.
- Strive to deliver any automation as a code. Participate and optionally manage regular reviews and continuous improvements.
- Mentor/coach team members to develop their skills; provide performance and attitude feedback to people managers.
Skills and **Requirements
- Strong hands-on system administration experience with Linux/Windows operating systems, virtualization, and IP networking (IP, TCP, DNS, NTP, IGMP, DHCP, firewalls, load balancers, and proxies).
- Experience with system engineering/administration/DevOps for product or custom software development.
- Experience with setting up and working with Cloud Native and DevOps technologies, principles, and practices like self-service, source control management, declarative infrastructure and CI/CD.
- Experience with VMware technology - SDDC, vRealize, vCloud, or WS1.
- Experience with Bash/PowerShell and Python scripting.
- Experience with configuration management tools, one or many of the following: Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, and SaltStack.
- Experience in troubleshooting technical issues across the OSI layers.
- Comfortable working in distributed, multinational, and multicultural environments.
- Proven track record of customer management, ownership, and advocacy for assuring customers’ success.
- Ability to handle difficult or sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact.
- Autonomous, proactive, and goal-oriented.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both speaking and writing.
- Git, Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Stash), Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, and the VMware product suite.
- Experience with design, configuration, and management of large and complex data center infrastructure, systems, and operations.
