JAX is a joint venture between VICE and MBC Group. JAX Media’s primary directive is to create a leading platform for quality digital Arabic language content centered on modern culture anchored in Saudi Arabia. While this role will focus on the delivery of the JAX Media proposition, it should also support and responsibly represent VICE’s growing presence in KSA more broadly.
As a Talent Director your primary responsibility will be to lead and manage the talent acquisition and management process for Vice JAX. You will play a crucial role in identifying, attracting, and cultivating talented individuals for our diverse range of productions. You will work closely with the production teams, casting directors, Talent Scout and other key stakeholders to ensure the acquisition of top-tier talent to bring our Content to life.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Collaborate with production teams to understand their talent requirements and develop a talent acquisition strategy. Identify and source actors, directors, writers, and other creative professionals suitable for specific projects.- Build and maintain relationships with established and emerging talent, agents, and talent agencies. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure talent for projects, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints and strategic goals.- Collaborate with casting directors and participate in casting decisions. Provide guidance and insights on talent selection based on project requirements and overall creative vision.- Stay up to date with industry trends, attend talent showcases, film festivals, and industry events to scout and discover new talent. Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals to enhance the talent pool.- Collaborate closely with various teams, including production, creative, legal, and finance, to ensure smooth talent acquisition processes and effective execution of contracts and agreements.- Conduct research and analysis of talent trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform talent strategies and enhance the company's competitive position.- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, talent agreements, and contractual obligations. Collaborate with legal teams to draft, review, and finalize talent contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS- Fluent in Arabic and English- 10 + years of experience in talent acquisition, management, or casting within the entertainment industry, preferably in film or television production.- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.- Passion for storytelling and a keen eye for talent.- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with changing priorities.
