About the role:
As an Accountant at The Great Room (“TGR”), you will be responsible for providing financial oversight, and full financial accounting for a vibrant co-working environment in Singapore.
A successful Accountant will be independently responsible for the full financial accounting function within Singapore and be the guardian who keeps timely and accurate books related to the entities as well as the parent company based in Singapore.
The Accountant will report to the Controller.
**What you’ll do
Build our Financial System
- Ensure timely and cost-effective financial management through effective management and sound advice to key stakeholders
- Design, implement, and monitor financial systems and controls for TGR’s holding company and the subsidiaries
- Manage TGR’s cash flows within available facilities, providing appropriate reporting to Controller and CFO
- Be the internal auditor of the accounting function for TGR
- Perform month end closing, prepare financial reports and revenue forecasts for analysis and decision making
- Carry out monthly variance analysis and forecast preparation
Spearhead and Finesse Growth
- Assist the Controller to ensure that TGR’s financial affairs and assets are well managed, that costs are controlled effectively, and resources are fully aligned behind strategic and operational priorities
Be a Guardian
- Be accountable to the Controller on all financial control matters across TGR
- Liaise with group external auditors on audits of TGR group of companies
- Ensure compliance with and provide advice on group financial and management accounting policies and procedures
- Ensuring compliance with and provide advice on group treasury/reserves/banking policy and asset management
- Manage the Group’s statutory taxation obligations (e.g. GST filing), with responsibility for preparation and submission
- Stay up to date and comply with regulatory changes and requirements specific to the local regulations
Who you are
**Requirements:
- Hold a qualification in Accounting, Finance or the equivalent
- With minimum of 3 years of experience in full sets of accounts
- Proven track record managing operational finance and full accounting competencies are key
- Possess excellent technical knowledge and practical experience of transactional accounting and operational finance
- Familiar with accounting systems such as XERO, Sun System, Oracle, SAP etc
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

- Have strong organisational and planning skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills; confident interacting with vendors and cross-department/company teams at different levels of seniority
