About the role
- Prioritization, co creation, and oversight of a prioritized public policy strategy for the assigned markets.
- Managing budgets and financial requirements expenditure of each country for public policy matters.
- Effective management of 4 of the main Trade Associations in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Argentina, overseeing from spending, ensuring that funds are well-spent against Diageo priorities, to the determination of the strategy, guaranteeing its focused on our main priorities: taxes, alcohol is alcohol, regulatory freedoms, while enhancing Diageo´s in society agenda and comms to contribute to the Trades Associations goals.
- Management of the relationship with all other associations of interest to the business, britcham, comex, agip, duty free association, to name a few.
- The role also requires a comprehensive understanding of the politics, political calendars and other forces of influence across each country and focusing on:
- illicit alcohol, contraband and counterfeit. Specifically ensuring our strategy places accountability squarely in the domain of government
- corruption is a significant issue, and ensuring that Diageo is highly disciplined in assuring its CBC is rigorously invested in the markets, particularly in terms of government interface, is imperative
