Product Architect - Electronics

OSM is an electronics engineering & manufacturing company who make complex on-trend engineered soft goods, consumer electronics and industrial products for global brands. Their services include end consumer driven design, product development, scalable mass production and supply chain management solutions. Founded in Sweden, OSM is now a global company working with world class brands since 2004.

To their Product Development center in Stockholm, OSM is now looking for a Product Architect/Senior Electronics Engineer to be the go-to resource for anything hardware related. In this role you will be a senior expert within the OSM R&D organization with broad areas of responsibility, working both short and long term to secure that the organization meets and deliver on targets with a strong customer focus.

You will be part of the R&D team and work closely with both colleagues and customers to create and deliver complex solutions within electronics.

You will for example:

• Work with Business Development and Project Management stakeholders and R&D during the concept and product definition phase of a project before award to make sure the project is feasible and to help chose the correct architecture and specification as well as expected performance and project complexity.
• Define how we work with hardware development as a company
• Work with platform development and evaluation
• Be responsible for the strategic work going forward
• Be the in-house expert regarding hardware
• Lead the concept development and verification work from a technical aspect in complex customer projects
• Work with other senior members of the R&D organization to make the flow from concept to mass production as smooth as possible and support how the different disciplines can work together
• Through gate reviews and similar activities make sure to maintain a very high standard of engineering excellence and not compromise too much in the name of speed or cost

Who you are

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on person who is passionate about product development. You probably have an oscilloscope at home and build things for fun. As a person you are down to earth, straightforward and have a can-do attitude. Expert knowledge, understanding and product development experience is more important than management experience.

Other requirements for this role are.

• Several years’ experience in electronics hardware development and related fields
• Experience from RF (front end design, filter design, phase noise, mixers, power stage, SNR, adjacent channel rejection and antenna simulations.)
• Experience in designing and building measurement setups
• Excellence at schematics and layout work
• Interest in all aspects of development during the lifecycle of a project (design, production and test, validation, and securement of final product)
• Fluency in English, written and spoken alike
• M.Sc. in engineering or similar

Experience from working in a global context is meriting for this role.

In this role, we expect that you within 3-6 months will be technically up to speed on OSM products and capabilities and have become indispensable in coordinating between customer, project manager, sale and R&D and make sure new projects are feasible from start, satisfying customer requirements and clearly executable by R&D. You take the mandate to lead and develop your area of responsibility.
