About the SnT...
The University of Luxembourg is seeking to hire a highly motivated and an outstanding engineer in the area of Field-Programmable Gate Array for Space Communications for its Interdisciplinary Centre of Security and Trust (SnT), within the Signal Processing and Communications (SigCom) research group, led by Prof. Symeon Chatzinotas.

Your Role...
- Contributing to research and development projects in the fields of:
- AI/ML-accelerated Satellite Communications
- Space-based Edge Computing and Internetworking
- 5G/6G Non-Terrestrial Networks and Satellite-Terrestrial Integration
- Quantum communications
- Implementing control, networking and signal processing algorithms for the 6GSPACE Lab
- Contributing to the dissemination of the research results
- Preparing new research proposals to attract industrial, national and European projects
- Collaborate in ongoing ESA, European, and national projects
- Assisting in the organization of relevant workshops and demos
Your Profile...
- A MSc degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or affine, with a proven record of accomplishment in the area of Real-Time Signal Processing or Wireless Communications using FPGA devices
- At least 5 years of experience in AMD Xilinx FPGA Development in industry or public funded research projects
- Hands-on development of Digital Signal Processing Blocks and High-Speed Interfaces such as DDR Memories, Ethernet(TCP/UDP) on AMD Xilinx Products
- Knowledge of hardware-software co-design and verification techniques using FPGA. Experience using Vivado SDK / Vitis is a plus
- AI-accelerated signal processing with dedicated hardware (GPU, FPGA and AI chipsets)
- Strong programming skills in VHDL, C/C++, C#, MATLAB
- Knowledge of Communications and Networking standards (3GPP, DVB) would be a benefit
- Experience using Altium designer and Hardware design is a plus
- Experience of working with industrial projects or publicly funded research projects is highly desirable
- Highly committed, excellent team-worker, and strong critical thinking skills
- International experience is advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
