Mid-level Developer - Developer Services Squad
Overview:
As a Mid-level Developer in our dynamic squad responsible for Developer Services, you will be a key contributor to the creation and enhancement of a robust ecosystem that facilitates developers in their day-to-day (D2D) activities. The squad leverages technologies such as Terraform, Python, and
- Bash/Shell, with a significant focus on cloud services hosted primarily on AWS. If you are passionate about empowering developers and creating efficient workspaces, this role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
1. Software Development:
- Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions that enhance the Developer Services ecosystem.
- Collaborate with team members to create efficient and maintainable code to support developers' daily activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing services by identifying and implementing optimizations.
2. Automation and Orchestration:
- Utilize Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Python, and Bash/Shell scripting to automate and orchestrate various aspects of the developer workspace and ecosystem.
- Implement automated workflows to streamline deployment, configuration, and monitoring tasks.
- Leverage cloud services on AWS to enhance scalability and efficiency.
3. Cloud Ecosystem Development:
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of cloud-based services on AWS that form the foundation of the Developer Services ecosystem.
- Implement solutions that enable seamless integration between services to create a cohesive developer experience.
4. Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional team members, including architects, system administrators, and other developers, to ensure the smooth integration and interoperability of services.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, fostering effective collaboration within the squad.
- Engage in knowledge-sharing activities to enhance the collective expertise of the team.
5. Troubleshooting and Support:
- Provide support for developer services, investigating and resolving technical issues promptly.
- Collaborate with operational teams to troubleshoot and optimize the performance of developer-centric services.
6. Documentation:
- Document code, scripts, configurations, and processes thoroughly to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer within the squad.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for Developer Services.
Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Terraform, Python, Bash/Shell scripting.
- Experience with cloud services on AWS, including but not limited to EC2, S3, Lambda, and AWS CLI.
- Familiarity with developer tools, workspaces, and best practices.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a developer, with a focus on developer services and ecosystem development.
- Exposure to agile methodologies and collaborative development environments.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive attitude with a strong commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Requirements:
- Must fulfil the requirements to obtain an EU security clearance
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required; proficiency in any other European language is a plus.
