Summer internship

Are you looking for a summer internship where you can acquire valuable experience by being a part of the
journey to create a world unique “Globe in 3D” based on satellite imagery? Would you like to learn and
develop your skills while working with cutting edge technology together with highly competent colleagues
in a global context?

Maxar is currently looking for summer interns to join the R&D center in Linköping.

What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):
Maxar uses a lot of CPU heavy processing to generate 3D geodata. For the purpose of optimizing this
process Maxar wants to evaluate tools for measuring and analyzing different aspects of CPU
utilization. This includes memory, I/O, thread and cache usage. The goal is to help Maxar developers to
find points where a process is not running as fast as possible.

This could be done by e.g. generating graphs showing which resources a particular process is using over
time. Such graphs will make is easier to find points where optimization would be most useful.

Many tools exists that could be useful for this, but work is needed to see which are suitable in the
particular environment used at Maxar.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master of science student
  • Comfortable with Linux and the terminal
